How to Find a Target Receipt (2026): Online and In-Store

To find a Target receipt, sign in to your Target account and open Purchase History. Select the order, then Receipts in the app or Receipts and invoices on Target.com. In-store buys show up only if you paid with a card linked to your account, used Wallet in the app, or gave your Target Circle phone number.

Step 1: Get the receipt for a Target.com order

Target's help page How do I get a receipt for a Target.com purchase? gives two paths.

On Target.com:

1. Sign in to your Target account.
2. Select Purchase History and find the order.
3. Select View order, then Receipts and invoices.
4. Select Print receipts, or View detailed invoices for a full copy.

In the Target app: open the Account tab, select Purchase history, select the order, then Receipts and View.

Target says these receipts appear within a few hours and stay up to about two years. Save a PDF of anything you need longer.

Step 2: Find an in-store purchase in your account

Target's help page How do I get a receipt for an in-store purchase? gives these steps on Target.com:

1. Sign in and select Orders.
2. Toggle to the In-store view, under the word Orders.
3. Select View orders to see the purchase details.

In the app, open the Account tab and select Purchase history.

Which store buys show up? Target's help lists three ways:

• You paid with a card linked to your Target.com account.
• You used your Wallet in the Target app.
• You entered a Target Circle phone number at checkout.

In-store purchases stay in your account for about one year. Download the ones you need for taxes before then.

Step 3: Paid cash or an unlinked card? Call Guest Relations

Target's help says purchases made with cash, a check or an unlinked Target GiftCard are not in your account, unless you scanned your Wallet or gave your Target Circle number at checkout.

• Ask for a receipt at the register. It's the only copy you'll get easily.
• Lost it? Target's help lists Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680.
• Paid by card? Your statement shows the date, amount and Target as the payee.

A statement alone isn't itemized. The IRS says a combination of supporting documents may be needed, so pair it with a note of what you bought.

Step 4: Save it for your books

Only the business items on a mixed receipt are deductible. Note which lines were for the business, or check out business and personal items separately.

Tax Notes for US Buyers
